A drone is a kind of sound where a note or chord is continuously sounded throughout most or all of a piece. It's continuous and sometime monotonous characteristic is great to keep you relaxed and focused without the distractions that music can cause.
Like white light, that is the combination a of all visible light frequencies, white noise is the sound that is produced when all sound frequencies are played at once. It is a pitch-less drone sound. White noise as well as brown noise and pink noise has a variety of benefits and applications. It is helpful to cover unwanted noises. Because of its sound masking properties, white noise is ideal both as a concentration aid and a relaxation aid. It can also be used to help those who suffer from deficit disorder or tinnitus (a disorder that produce a constant ringing ears sensation).
