Theta Meditation

Our brain activity slows down during the meditation practice. When we're awake and alert, the brain is predominantly producing beta brainwaves. As we begin to relax, such as during a state of light meditation, we descend into the alpha brainwave state. The theta state is experienced naturally as we fall asleep and start to dream, but most people find it difficult to maintain while awake.

An easier way to reach the theta state is listening to the album Theta Meditation. It starts with the alpha frequency of 12Hz and ramps down to the Theta of 5.5 Hz in 10 minutes, where it remains until the end of the session.

We have high levels of theta waves when we are deeply relaxed, daydreaming or asleep. Theta brainwaves are dominant in people high levels of relaxation and creativity. The subconscious mind becomes more receptive to suggestion at this time, making it useful if you are performing self-hypnosis or other techniques to reprogram your subconscious belief system.

Some other benefits of increasing theta brainwave activity:  greater intuition, lower anxiety and stress and healing body and mind.
