Meditation

To Meditate is to look deeply and engage in contemplation or reflection. It's a mental exercise (as concentration on one's breathing or repetition of a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness.

It can help combat stress, enhance physical health, sharpen your concentration skills, make you sleep better, feel happier, be more peaceful, as well as be more present. Meditation can also help us to understand our own mind. We can learn how to transform our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy.

Anyone can practice meditation. It's simple and it doesn't require any special equipment.

Simple meditation for beginners (focus on breathing)

1. Sit or lie comfortably.
2. Close your eyes.
2. Breathe naturally without controlling its pace or intensity
3. Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation. If your mind wanders, return your focus back to your breath.
