Brainwave Entrainment

What is Brainwave Entrainment?

Brainwave Entrainment refers to the brain's electrical response to rhythmic sensory stimulation, such as pulses of sound or light.

When the brain is presented with a rhythmic stimulus like drums or light pulses, the rhythm is reflected in the brain. If the rhythm becomes consistent enough, it can start to resemble the natural internal rhythms of the brain, called brainwaves. When this happens, the brain responds by synchronizing its own electric cycles to the same rhythm. This is commonly called the Frequency Following Response.

The application of the principle of brainwave entrainment is not new. Drumming and
chanting have been used in different cultures to create rhythmic patterns which would stimulate altered states of mind.

Isochronic Tones

Binaural beats are produced because of the combination of two separate sounds while isochronic tones do not depend on the interaction of tones to form a beat. Actually, a beat is formed due to the use of audio modulations.

Contrary to the popular belief, isochronic tones tend to be more effective in inducing entrainment than binaural beats. Headphones are unnecessary to listen to isochronic beats. Click here to see several Technomind albums with isochronic tones.

Lucid Dream Music

Lucid Dreaming Cycle Album by Electric Dreams is a 100 minute brown noise album embedded with Delta, Theta and Gamma Isochronic Tones. The soft noise, together with the isochronic tones help you to get sleep. It also has some gamma bursts which helps to increase your awareness without waking you up. These brainwave bursts are supposed to ocurr during your REM sleep.

This album also has two spoken phrases that are played at specific times: "am I dreaming?" and "do a reality check". These almost subliminal phrases help you to do reality checks while you are dreaming.

Lucid Dreaming: affirmations with brainwave entrainment by Hypnosynth is a 30 minute album that consists of 10 affimations repeated for three minutes each.

These affirmations help you to train your brain to achieve lucid dreams when you go to bed. It is also embedded with theta brainwaves from 7 Hz to 4.5 Hz. These theta frequencies help you to achieve a deeply and relaxed receptive state.
